BoKS Access Control for Desktops How It Works
Using BoKS Access Control for Desktops, access to all enterprise desktops is defined and managed centrally using access policies. Through the FoxT solution, administrators can define security policies for accessing desktops then distribute them automatically. You can also define how users should authenticate when they log in including the use of passwords, SecurID tokens, smart cards, and x.509 certificate-based authentication where stronger authentication mechanisms are required.
The BoKS desktop environment is a secure container for your user's information needed to connect to servers, applications, or carry out approved local operations (like file encryption)
The desktop automatically exchanges policy information with the BoKS Authentication database, which is purged when the user logs out. Timeout parameters can be set to revalidate the user if they step away from their desk, or if a token or smartcard is removed and re-installed.
BoKS AccessControl for Desktops is configured for your company's "standard desktop", and may be distributed, and re-distributed with updates using Microsoft SMS on Windows and Terminal Server platforms.
