How it Works—BoKs Fine-Grained Access Control Management
Enterprise Access Control needs to be both:
General—with a broad application of corporate access control policies attached to user, application, or server groups; and
Fine Grained—where exceptions to the general principles can also be applied to security policies. In heavily regulated vertical markets, including Finance, Telecoms, Government, and Utilities, alternative and more fine-grained access controls are required for specific user teams and can be mapped by business function.
The BoKS access control database contains data elements that allow you to build both General and Fine Grained access policies. Let's look at a simple example:
Servers and applications can be placed into Groups. The Groups can be multi-dimensional, with both graphical and functional groupings.
